Eight exceptional women are being recognized by the U.S. secretary of state as “Women of Courage.”The award “pays tribute to outstanding women leaders worldwide” and “recognizes the courage and leadership shown as they struggle for social justice and human rights,” according to a March 5 State Department announcement.
